King's Cross People Mug | Joel Clark Signature Art

This is King’s Cross People — Joel Clark’s hand-cut vinyl depiction of commuters moving outside the front of King’s Cross station in London. King’s Cross is one of those places where the city is always in motion: people arriving, departing, rushing, waiting, heads down and bags in hand. Joel’s process — breaking every scene into individually cut coloured shapes and building it back up piece by piece — turns the flow of commuters into something graphic and almost choreographic. The figures become bold flat shapes against the architecture, and the whole composition captures the particular energy of a great London terminus: purposeful, relentless, and quietly magnificent.

Joel Clark is a British artist working in the unique medium of hand-cut vinyl. He learned the craft at a summer job at Silverstone circuit, spent six years at art college, then 16 years as an advertising creative writing TV and poster campaigns — before finally committing to the work he’d always wanted to make. Every piece begins as a hand-drawn composition; each shape is then intricately cut from coloured vinyl and applied piece by piece, like a jigsaw, to build the final image. The results are vivid and impactful — bold colour, strong composition, and an energy that comes from someone who understands exactly how images communicate. Alongside his collaboration with Sipfull of Design, Joel has created artworks for Lewis Hamilton, Renault F1, Toyota, Silverstone Museum, Porsche, and many others.

Each item is made to order and carefully hand-pressed in our Sussex studio.

Most orders are produced within 24–48 hours, depending on order volume.

Standard delivery: Orders are dispatched using a Royal Mail Tracked 48 service.

Express delivery: Where Express shipping is selected at checkout, orders are dispatched using a Royal Mail Tracked 24 service.

Delivery times refer to courier transit only and do not include production time.
