A while back, we started noticing something at checkout.
Some of you were reaching the shipping page, seeing “£3.99 for Express delivery”, and pausing. Not because it wasn't fair — Royal Mail's Tracked 24 rate is what it is — but because sometimes, a mug isn't urgent. It's a birthday gift for next month. It's a treat for yourself when you get round to it. It's the sort of thing you'd happily wait a couple of extra days for, if it saved a few pounds.
Money doesn't grow on trees. Neither does postage.
So we've added a third option.
Standard Delivery, from £1.99
A slower, cheaper service sent via Royal Mail's Tracked 48. It gets there in two working days after we've dispatched, rather than the next working day for our Express option.
Good for the birthday you've planned ahead for, the treat that isn't time-sensitive, or the just-because gift for a friend who won't know it's coming.
You'll see it as the first option at checkout, alongside the two that were already there.
The Three Options, at a Glance

- Free UK Standard Delivery — still free on orders over £20. Same Tracked 48 service.
- Express 24hr Delivery — still £3.99. Royal Mail Tracked 24 — for when you actually do need it fast.
All three appear at checkout. You pick which suits.
When to Pick Which
A quick, honest steer.
Ordering ahead? Standard is the sensible one. Cheaper, and if you've bought a couple of days early, no one will ever know.
Basket over £20? Free Standard is on the house. Nothing to think about — and worth an extra mug in the basket if you're close to the threshold.
Left it late? Express 24hr is what it's for. A little more, but there when you need it.
Nothing Else Has Changed
Free UK delivery on orders over £20 is still free. Express 24hr is still £3.99. Our one-year print guarantee still applies. Every mug is still hand-pressed and packed in our small Sussex studio.
The only change is that there's now a cheaper option when you don't need it fast.

Delivery isn't the glamorous bit of running a small business. But it's the last part of anyone's experience with us — so it's worth getting right, and worth revisiting when the numbers move.
